Effective: [DATE]
Doughcast is made by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], a Texas limited liability company doing business as Doughcast (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we handle when you use the Doughcast app and this website, and why.
The short version
- Your financial plan stays on your Mac, encrypted with your password. We don’t receive it.
- When you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your payment details. We receive what we need to run your subscription, like your name, email address and subscription status.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
Information in the app
The balances, bills, income and other details you enter into Doughcast are stored on your device in an encrypted database. The Mac app does not send this information to us. If you choose to make backups, they are encrypted and saved where you choose.
If we add features that send information off your device, such as syncing between devices or connecting to financial accounts, we will update this policy and explain what the feature shares before you use it.
Information we receive
- Purchases and subscriptions. Stripe processes payments on our behalf. We receive your name, email address, billing country and postal code (for tax), what you bought, and your subscription status. We do not receive your full card number. Stripe’s use of your information is covered by Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Licensing. To confirm your subscription, the app may check its license status with our servers from time to time. That check includes a license or account identifier and basic technical details such as the app version.
- Support. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include.
- This website. The website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider ([HOSTING PROVIDER]) may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security and reliability.
How we use it
To provide and bill for Doughcast, confirm subscriptions, answer your messages, send important account and service notices, meet legal and tax obligations, and protect against fraud and abuse. If we ever send product news by email, you can unsubscribe at any time.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run Doughcast (such as payment processing, hosting and email), when the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
Keeping it
We keep purchase records as long as tax and accounting rules require, and other information only as long as we need it for the purposes above.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or California’s privacy laws, and we will honor them.
Children
Doughcast isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and tell you before the change takes effect.
